Privacy policy.
What we collect, why, who helps us process it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 27 October 2026.
Who we are.
Ryuc ("we", "us") makes software that screens CVs, runs AI interviews and prepares reports for recruitment agencies and hiring teams. This policy covers this website (https://ryuc.app), the Ryuc app and the interviews candidates take through it. To reach us about anything here, use the contact link.
Two roles, depending on whose data it is.
- Website visitors and our customers' account details: we decide how this data is used, so we're responsible for it (the "controller", or "data fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).
- Candidates' data inside a customer's workspace: the agency or company that invited the candidate decides how it's used. We process it on their behalf and only on their instructions (a "processor"). Candidates who want to see, correct or delete their data should contact the company that invited them; we'll help that company respond.
What we collect.
- When you visit the website: the pages you request, your IP address and browser details in our hosting provider's standard logs, your approximate country (to show prices and examples for your region), and the preferences you choose (see the cookie policy).
- When you book a demo or contact us: what you send us, such as your name, work email, company and message. Demo bookings are handled by Cal.com and emails by our email provider.
- When your team uses Ryuc: account and workspace details, roles and job descriptions, candidate records your team adds or uploads (including CV text), and your team's decisions and notes with who made them and when.
- When a candidate takes an interview: the consent they give, the interview audio as it streams (to transcribe it and to speak back), the transcript and any typed answers, scores and review notes, and basic signals used for answer-authenticity notes, such as pasted text and switching away from the interview tab. Audio recordings, when a team makes them, are saved in that team's browser and on their computer, not on our servers. Candidates' cameras never leave their device.
Why we use it.
- To run the service: screening, interviews, scoring, reports and the workspace features our customers sign up for.
- To answer enquiries, run demos and support customers.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don't sell personal data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use candidates' data to train AI models.
AI and decisions.
Ryuc scores answers against the customer's rubric and suggests a decision. It never rejects or moves a candidate on its own: a person at the hiring company confirms every decision and can override any score with a reason. Answer-authenticity notes are for that person's review and are never part of the score. Candidates are told before the interview starts that the interviewer is AI.
Who helps us process it.
We use a small number of service providers, and send them only what they need to do their job:
- Cloudflare: hosting, the database and network security for the website and app.
- LiveKit: the real-time voice connection for interviews.
- OpenRouter and the AI model providers it connects us to: speech recognition, the interviewer's voice and replies, and scoring. Some workspaces choose other speech or voice providers (such as Deepgram, Google or OpenAI); their interviews are processed by the provider they pick.
- Cal.com: demo bookings, if you book one.
- Google Fonts: the website's fonts are loaded from Google, which receives your IP address when they load.
Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards they offer for international transfers.
How long we keep it.
Customer and candidate data stays in the customer's workspace until the customer deletes it or closes their account; teams can delete interviews at any time. Enquiries are kept as long as needed to follow up. Hosting logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires it.
Your rights.
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict some uses, or to receive a copy of it. If you live in India you can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you and raise a grievance with us. Contact us through the contact link; we'll reply within 30 days. If your data is in a customer's workspace, we'll pass your request to that customer. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security.
Each customer's workspace is kept separate, connections are encrypted, and access is limited to people who need it. More detail is on the security page.
Children.
Ryuc is for hiring adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and tell customers about significant changes before they take effect.
